I really wish all the code snippet libraries aligned on the terminology. Tired of wasting time guessing how to make line numbers show up. showLines? showLineNumbers? lines=true? lineNumbers=true?

This is a failure of design.

I'm not sure what to make of this, he creates something similar to #WindowsXP version of #WindowsNotepad, then adds options for #linenumbers and #darkmode. Already so many #opensource text applications that do these things.

There's also #MicrosoftEdit, #Microsoft's #terminalbased #texteditor.

Note:

The Highlight API does not work in a <textarea> or <input>

So suppose you have developed a <code-repl> Web Component with Syntax Highlighting and Linenumbers in a <textarea> (with 0 dependencies)
You can't highlight code/lines with that API
