Bit of lingustics nerdery but I am using "wah" as a discourse particle in a similar way to how "lah" or "lor" or "leh" are used in Singaporean or Malay English. When I end a sentence with "wah" that's how you know I'm drooling a little over you. The only discourse particle that marks lust

uh yeah that's a good point. i can think of plenty of situations when you (plural) is totally correct in the vernacular too. u rite.
i guess i'm thinking about it in terms of how i can basically minimize harm / avoid offending, and ALSO affirm and encourage and model good lingustics / behavior.
