#longtitudinal
Lee: Note that this is a longtitudinal study! So there will be additional forthcoming results, with regards to data and developmental trajectories. #INSAR2025

Yeah, the Dunedin one is really special. Actually I saw this ADHD expert trashing the Dunedin study because it wasn't a massive international study? Like?? You try doing a 40 year longtitudinal study internationally my dude.

The Dunedin Longtitudinal Study showed that adult onset ADHD is, like, an actual thing, and therefore there should be some real study into how that happens and a movement away from the "developmental" model and yet research on this is minimal

No it's like the only one of its kind, a longtitudinal study like that is massively difficult to pull off because the retention rate is typically pants. If 60% of your study drops out then how good can you expect your results to be? The Dunedin study has like 95% retention which is unheard of

A longtitudinal study would be an ethical option, but it would not suit the agenda of the promoters of these "studies", which is not to ascertain the safety of hormone blockers, but to create barriers to their use for trans people.

"Nothing about us without us" is fundamental to ethical studies.

Longtitudinal studies are just SO uncool these days as, like many other fields, they speak to knowledge and information, and context, and that is a direct threat to decisionmakers doing bad shit.

I think we are really talking past each other at this point. Of course people have ‘cues about the state of the economy’—I mean obviously! But they don’t have real access to what Will keeps braying on about which is real longtitudinal data proving or disproving something like “the real state“

I remain deeply sceptical about this. Lets see what the longtitudinal studies on productivity and equality reveal
