A brilliant day had by all at yesterday's @bsbibotany.bsky.social #IrishAutumnMeeting in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh: amazing talks, and fantastic workshops on Irish #Ferns, #Whitebeams, the aquatic plants of #LoughErne, and the #100PlantsChallenge. Thanks to all who came & #FermanaghHouse for hosting

The #UlsterCanal #Greenway is a 4km walk from #Monaghan town along the old canal.
Built between 1825 & 1842, it was 46 miles long and connected #LoughNeagh to #LoughErne. The canal was last used in 1929.
A view of the greenway, a lock keeper's cottage, a lock & a view of St Macartan's Cathedral.

I'm afraid I might be a bit late with my contribution to today's #BirdOfTheDay - I'm having a bit of trouble getting my ducks in a row...

A young Seamus Heaney meets a pagan Irish god in 1972. I love listening to his mellifluous Ulster English.

Good fun earlier following the Pilgrim trail in #LoughErne and seeing the basilica and amazing Harry Clarke windows on Station island
