One neat trick is if the media exclusively use foreign language terms for things (madrassa, Intifada, jihad) it's because the act of describing them in plain English in itself gives them legitimacy OR makes it clear that similar if not worse concepts exist at home.

The Qur'an is no doubt studied in its proper context along with other religious texts in a comparative framework, but Bari Weiss's Islamophobic rag would rather falsely portray Columbia University as some sort of madrassa.
