Saw some beautiful data representations by Fawzia Khan at the Soo Visual Arts Center. She recorded herself reading lines of wisdom & poetry & wove her voiceprint into prayer rugs. You can hear the recording as you approach each rug.

A little something I like to revisit this time of year.

When I read this in 1998, I had no idea bell hooks was welcoming me to the adult basic education class I found myself teaching in 2001, in a community where I felt whole and where I belonged, two feelings that were novel to me at the time.
