Just heard #McMichaelGallery in Kleinburg is closing for three years under the guise of renovations for improvement, my heart sank. Is it possible this is another #DougFord #ScienceCentre or #OntarioPlace fiasco in the works?
Anyone have details? @lizrenzetti.bsky.social

I have a personal history to #McMichaelGallery as my late father created wood and metal sculptures, the first items sold in the gallery gift shop other than reproductions of the work by #TheGroupOfSeven
A.Y. Jackson said dad’s work “put him in mind of Tom’s trees” that’s Tom Thompson of course!

Well, my Mum used to fantasize about living there...
#GovernorFord doesn't care about what we, the people of Ontario, want and need. He only wants to give our money and public institutions to his cronies and donors.

My #AYJackson story: Around 1970 I went on a school trip to the #McMichaelGallery. While we were led to the picnic area, Jackson’s cottage was pointed out. I was 7 and fearless, so I sneaked away and knocked on his door. We chatted. I wish I was that fearless now. #CanadianArt

it was great to finally see Bonnie Devine's From Water to Water: A Way Through the Trees @mcmichaelgallery on the weekend, which incorporates a suite of Huron-Wendat effigy pipes that materialize the gallery's adjacency to the historic Wendat villages of Seed-Barker and Skandatut 🖼️ 🗿 🚬 🌊
