Selective inhibition of stromal mechanosensing suppresses cardiac fibrosis - Nature
Inhibition of a cardiac stroma-enriched mechanosensor, SRC—in concert with suppression of the TGFβ pathway—potentiates the reversal of fibroblast activation and alleviates contractile dysfunction in fibrotic hearts.

Wow!
All joking aside, our cells have an orientation & polarity, fundamental to function. They incessantly monitor the environment around them. Mechanosensing is the way cells translate physical changes (gravity) to internal signals.

🧪We are literally earthlings, at the cellular & molecular level.

New preprint!
SOSEKI polarity proteins are mechanoresponsive integrators linking growth and tissue mechanics during lateral root formation. Their polarity marks growth boundaries and reorganises in response to mechanical alterations —reshaping how we think about axis formation.
