#mediafication
The big difference is prior to social mediafication, when you got those million views, you got literally all of the ad revenue that came from it.

Like a weird thing for me lately is the online sphere of art I do just seems to get more and more degraded by social-mediafication, whereas for all the jokes you could lay about the modern book business, it's still a place where people get excited about some fantasy author's latest 1400 pager.

And some of that is the social-mediafication of things. Maybe a lot of it? But I wonder if also it's like in 2010 the people were a different set of people-- ones more likely to seek you out and support, as opposed to people scrolling IG, seeing "content" as creatorless excretions from the Internet.

I think that the social mediafication of political debate is going to result in a disorienting, confused NDP leadership race where none of the important questions get answered. The party isn't at a place where it can create structures to resist this.

Anyway, I donated to the GoFundMe and now GoFundMe suggests I follow Paris Hilton. Which—wtf? I mean, maybe Paris Hilton is amplifying worthy GoFundMes that I might want to donate to, but a) I don't need "shopping" suggestions for donations and b) the social mediafication of donations is weird.

How's this for misunderstanding?

The social-mediafication of sports fandom has been making me *less* likely to engage or participate, not more.

AAAARGH I hate the social mediafication of the nervous system.

The social mediafication of the most wanted 😩

While I'm being grumpy: the social mediafication of science has me increasingly irritable. More & more people getting better & better at pitching online. I expect that skill is largely orthogonal to understanding the universe (which has no need to be legible, much less fashionable & glitzy)

Maybe the social mediafication of 'engagement' was a not good thing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Let me fix that for you: the pundit habit of treating Hanania and Rufo and people like them as worthy of engagement has helped mainstream them and transform the GOP into openly racist groypers, one of the most counterproductive and off-putting choices of the last 20 years of media figures

The whole "but if they hold some evil belief" thing feels like a symptom of social mediafication of actual relationships.

People are used to extrapolating out 300 characters to an entire series of personal failings, only a matter of time before that gets applied to people we actually know

i work in an office enthusiastically consumed by generative ai gray goo, opaque algorithms and social mediafication. i also spend a third of my working day as unrelated tech/moral/human support for the kinda people who ask chatgpt to write eulogies for funerals. please exercise your heads, kids

Social mediafication of policy.

Exams protect students from racial and other kinds of bias. They also allow schools to improve, as more teacher assessment means teachers marking their own homework (sometimes literally, alas).

Has Zack thought about these points? Or is it a cheap applause line?
Fair play from the Mail.

I said what I said.

I hate the social mediafication of YouTube ads. I don’t need a GRWM while they read a script about Mint Mobile.

Social mediafication of every aspect of our damn lives.

The fact that many payment apps are set to publicly share information about your transactions by default is just a crazy example of the social mediafication of literally everything.

Social-mediafication of the markets. Quick hits and lack of long term insight. Everything is reactive. Nothing is forward thinking.

Boom or bust. Except the only ones booming are the ones in the administration or Congress.

I don't want to be this person, but one reason I think the mediafication of daily waking life is a catastrophe is that in their daily waking life, a whole lot of people don't seem to fucking THINK, about anything

My contribution to the Herta discourse is that the social mediafication of people’s brains prevents them from thinking on 2+ year timelines

Or maybe it causes them to rather see the discourse machine go brrrrr

Not sure which is worse frankly
8th! He only needs 8th!

This is so very easily achievable to then replace an aging Perez or Bottas!

Why wouldn't anyone want to see this?!

Let's continue to fight social mediafication with Autarkation and Em Tea-cation. cc @scottyarch18.bsky.social

Yeah, it's really disappointing for a variety of reasons, the social mediafication of TCG spaces past stuff like Facebook groups has changed how/if I even want to engage with the game. Feels like the only response is more focused private spaces/blogs & RSS feeds

Sometimes the social mediafication of language is so bad lmao. How has "ts" gone from "this shit" to "this"
May 31, 2026 at 6:16 AM
I'll say... interactions with fics have really dropped off in recent years. I don't know if it's just our fandom with the anime on pause or a broader thing, but I think there's been a social-mediafication of how people interact with fanfic...

Yeah, I’ve been a bit shocked by how ridiculous everyone is thinking this is - it’s obviously a social-mediafication of the idea, but it’s not actually far from where the “wilderness debates” actually are right now.

The chinese mediafication of american mainstream media (all major mainstream media being a less shitty version of fox and fox is the state media).
