I’ll say it again — Metro Vancouver is THE North American hotbed for transit-oriented development. No other North American region comes close. Today was DAY 1 of 4 days of “deep dives” where I’m touring municipal leaders from Ontario, riding skytrain lines & digging into transformed station areas.

One of the reasons we have high transit costs? We overbuild. Milpitas BART and Metrotown SkyTrain were built to serve the same daily ridership, but one is a 20-acre compound. 🧵

Changing the R2 to go to Metrotown has been a real disaster for the bus being regular and on time.
