4.5 hours worth of work later and only 20 planks laid. I have most of the foredeck teak planks down. The planks along the inside gunwales are all unique cuts and sanding to fit the curve of the bow to midships section.

That’s it for tonight. Almost all plastic parts on. Started to add the PE parts - the bridge wing bracing and midships catwalks were not hard and look great. The one issue with the Tamiya kit is a lack of deckhouse detailing (hatches, etc). But adding PE hatches is easy. #HistScaleModels

It needs some refinement, but I'm so very pleased that the new concept works as well on the midships as it does the front engined cars, I've been excited about this since @sjbailey87.bsky.social first showed me his initial ideas and I just had to try it on the McLaren today

Gonna try to annotate the nautical terms in Father Mapple's sermon (ch 9) as best I can here. First one's easy, starboard being right and larboard being left, he's asking everyone to scooch over on the pews into the center of the chapel. Gangway here basically means "move it" 🐋

15/ One woman managed to escape her cabin (being closest to midships). She climbed one of the masts with several other passengers trying to escape the rough seas and rising tide, hoping to stay dry to be rescued. This is where she died, wrapped in rigging, her clothing being torn by the wind.
