…before being defeated by Perovskite in the Quarterfinals. This year, it took vengeance during a Semifinals rematch against Perovskite, then handily defeated Kyanite to take the 2024 Championship. 👇🏼

One of my (many) favourite specimens in the NHM London's Mineral Gallery is this "snake stone". The chambers of this Ammonites perarmatus have been replaced by calcite, allowing us to see its internal structure in great detail #FossilFriday 🧪⚒️

Today I learned about (and voted for) Arsenuranospathite. Happy #MinCup2024 to all who celebrate!
Our lovely friend, #Arsenuranospathite is a 2 on the Moh's scale of hardness. So it is softer than your fingernail, and is as hard as gypsum. 6 out of 9 doctors do not recommend using Arsenuranospathite to form the walls of your house, but those 3 doctors are the fun ones.
