“Willing to consider viewpoints even if they don’t conform to the norm” is open-mindedness. “Compelled to take a contrary viewpoint without respect to merit” is a personality disorder.

it's bizarre to see both CNN and CNBC run with chyrons reporting that Trump said he won't "use force" to take Greenland, when the comments in question were clearly a threat to take Greenland by force. How naive are we at this point?

Snoop's ignorance reminds me of this dynamite passage from Bill Russell's book "Second Wind." He wrote this in 1979 and it still applies today: People use children to express their bigotry and narrow-mindedness.

One of the things that's really hobbling older liberal leadership, Bernie included, is this reflex they have to show broad mindedness by using a kind of corporate version of Rogerian argument, where you always begin by acknowledging common ground or points of agreement you share with your opponent
