A lineless halfbody drawing of a Mind Flayer OC. He is humanoid in appearance but has a squid-like head with webbed tentacles. He is teal in colour with red on the ends of his tentacles and a glow on his skin. He also has 3 bright red eyes piercing the darkness. He's wearing a black and red half-outfit with a strap over his chest and a high collar, and he has his arms outstretched while staring with a menacing look. The background is black and red with a Victorian-style pattern and he is lit by two low lights stretched diagonally

Hi #PortfolioDay! Flowlithid here, a digital artist passionate about dramatic scenes, moody narratives & comic art styles; Focus on Illithid/monster-leaning characters & BG3 fanart.

Portfolio: cara.app/sunaiadarts/...

#BG3 #illithid #illithidoc #mindflayer #mindflayeroc #ocsky #D&D #digitalart
Digital comic style drawing of the Emperor from BG3 floating over a cobblestone ledge; portals around him open as versions of him from cyberpunk, steampunk, desert apocalypse and Lovecraftian universes join his side. The sky is overcast in red with the silhouettes of nautiloids in the clouds, and ember sparks float in the air. Digital drawings with 4 mind flayers, one looking futuristic and cybernetic, another in a suit, top hat and brassy mantle. A mechanical intellect devourer flies out with him. Another one looking like someone out of the Mad Max series, and the other in a disheveled suit, a mad, haunted look, a ghostly crest and shadowy hands. Behind him is an ominous city with Lovecraftian motifs. 3 digital drawings: left is a brown-skinned mind flayer in elaborate orange robe and messenger pigeons; middle is a dragonborn ink drawing, right is a pirate tiefling with their illithid form. Image collage of three illustrated scenes. Left is a low angle POV of a towering, fearsome ulitharid in black and purple armor strides towards a barricade, flanked by armored ulitharids. Two are about to cast something, and the bezerker is charging forward. Behind them are silhouettes of countless illithids. They are all getting shot at, but the bullets/blasts have no effect. Behind them, a lightning storm forms an ominous circle in the sky. Middle is two illithids composed like Bouguereau's "Abduction of Psyche." Right is a green skinned mind flayer in an elaborate dress.

I feel bad constantly reusing my one (or two) detailed pictures of Lugribossk - hopefully I can make more formal images of him down the road.

#TheEmperor isn't my OC, but he'd rock this top. Especially since Lugribossk "borrowed" (or stole) his Oreo shirt. Someone might be crying from tickles later.

I made Lugribossk into a raid boss, styled like the raids from WoW. I also spoiled my story a bit, but it was still fun to think about 🥴 The raiding party could possibly be the hybrid gith-illithids he created.

#oc #ocart #illithid #illithidOC #mindflayer #mindflayeroc #forgottenrealms #spelljammer
Sheet detailing a fictional raid encounter with an ulitharid in three forms. It reads: "Lugribossk (Illimandra Citadel) Lugribossk is the penultimate boss of the Illimandra Citadel Raid. He is initially found in the inner sanctum, but the actual fight occursoutside in the citadel ruins. He is a 3 phase encounter. Phase 1: Catch Me Lugribossk will attempt to collapse the citadel onto the party. and give chase through an exit tunnel. The party must dodge falling debris to reach him. Any trash mobs not previously cleared will also spawn in this gauntlet. Phase 2: Combat The raid has 10 cycles to defeat Lugribossk before he enrages and becomes gigantic. The fight is very movement and AOE heavy due to his fear aura and mind control mechanics. The raid also takes gradual damage from brain burn. Phase 3: Spectre of Lugribossk After a cutscene, Lugribossk will split into a spectral form and a pallid illithid/former aasimar Jossiel. The spectre will attempt to escape while draining him of hit points. If it escapes and Jossiel dies, it will be absorbed by the Avatar of Ilsensine. This will make the fight much more difficult with their combined mechanics. A Legendary item will only drop for one player, nothing else. If the spectre is defeated, Jossiel will heal the raid and aid them against the avatar. If he also survives that, the raid will be rewarded with the Rings of Ilsensine legendary item, and the squidling companion Cuddil. Cuddil has utility for repairs and mailing items.

A pic inspired from a painting by Joe Bowler: a cover of my post BG3 Spelljammer Space Opera Crackship idea. It conveys most of the story through a number of details and symbolism.

A light pastel-colored mindflayer is embraced from above by a green skinned mindflayer whose clothing seems to be part of the dark background. The shadows from him cast a green tinge on the other’s skin. There is the silhouette of a planet behind them, with a light flare creating a halo around the green mindflayer. The title to the right reads “The Adversary and the Fear Lord” with the icon of a sword with light rays at its hilt at the center of a brain with two tentacles on either side.
