Eeeee! Setup my Pi-Star MMDVM hotspot for Amateur Radio DMR! First time having a hotspot! Finally feel connected back onto the networks!! Since a lot of the repeaters in the UK switched off of the big DMR Networks :(

I've had pretty good success tonight with DMR and MMDVM hotspots!
so far I would not recommend a Baofeng DM-1701; it's not terribly intuitive, and getting it to an easier-to-use state required a custom firmware flash. MMDVM hotspot working fine tho!

Almost done with it too. A replacement repeater controller for my old Motorola CDR700 repeater. Designed the case, filled it with a Pi3, MMDVM hat and power goodies. Final config today and tomorrow, goes into the repeater tomorrow. Purple is prod, grey is prototype. #RickPi #MMDVM #hamradio
