The best Startrek Online game wouldn't be a traditional MMOG format, but rather a peer to peer experience.
You create a starship (game server) and any number of junior characters.
You can spend time in your ship just doing cosy stuff like maintenance puzzles, side quests and so forth.

I did a lot of work on this when I worked on MMOG setups for Bigworld engine. Basically how can you reuse spaces and make them feel hand crafted and unique and yet, remain logical.

I criticize the bias on Asian F2P & gacha not to defend them - they should be criticized! - but because it's too easy to escapegoat them and miss how predatory US MMOs were, even the very early ones.

We took the design elements from Enemy Infestation II and used them for Bigworld: Citizen Zero. An mmog for the xbox.

I so badly want Ship of Heroes to do well. Concept wise, it's exactly what I would want in a MMOG. Entirely PvE with science-fiction and super-heroes put in a blender, and with some old fashioned MMOG sensibilities.

I agree, gacha & F2P should absolutely be criticized. Roblox's evil thrives due to lack of criticism. What I reject is when it becomes an excuse to rewrite history, especially when US online games did whale-hunting first
