Over on Whatever, I'm doing a series on movies I consider "Comfort Watches" - not the greatest movies of all time, necessarily, but some of the most rewatchable. I'm starting the series with easily the most rewatchable movie of 2025: K-Pop Demon Hunters!

A couple of years ago I did a series of movie reviews about the movies I enjoy rewatching — not the best movies of all time, or the most important movies, but the ones I’m happy to spen…

I can think of multiple movies that have this exact plot line, plus an entire television series.

I guess they don't have the sound on the TVs at the bar.
Kash Patel: "Just to remind everyone. This was almost the entirety of the president's cabinet, the president and vice president himself, and 2,000 members of the media. This is something the movies don't even write about, this kind of tragedy."

I would like to lodge a complaint. Can streaming movies and series stop showing text conversations on cell phones as if we can see and read those images?

This idea could be used for a whole series of movies based on influencers romanticizing parts of history that we have grown beyond

I caught a trailer for the new Harry Potter series and, aside from the JK Rowling idiocy, my first thought was -- why?

Who needs this? The fans loved the movies, right? Why redo it as a slightly shittier TV series?

Why?

I dream of a world where we got a generation-defining series of Animorphs movies instead

No one talks about Jacob's Ladder enough. One of the scariest, saddest movies i've ever seen. Hugely influential to the Silent Hill game series.
191. Jacob's Ladder (dir. Lyne, 1990).

Maybe the saddest horror film of the 90s (or, at the very least, a top contender for the title). Its minimal use of practical effects and reliance on nightmare-inducing quick edits to obscure what effects they *did* have? Filmmaking genius.

Rewatching the Justice League animated series from 2001 and god I forgot how much this show absolutely SLAPPED. Modern superhero movies could never.

For those who are pro book bans but only in the sense of banning “poorly written” books, if we banned said things.. then we’d never have the Twilight movies.

And that movie series is a cultural feast for the soul.

I may not care for the books, but holy shit those movies cure all that ail me.

Getting older means realizing The Motion Picture and The Search for Spock are actually the most interesting original series Star Trek movies.

Don't watch the new Harry Potter series. Not even if you plan on keeping your HBO subscription because of other movies and shows on the platform. Not even if you pirate it. Do not watch it.

There is no character more uniquely layered in AEW than Hangman Page.

TV series, comic books, movies. His story could cover all of it.

Disney owns both The Muppets and Star Wars, and the fact they are not making a Muppet version of all nine main-series Star Wars movies is only explained by the fact that they secretly hate making money.
