this why i keep believing a wholesale electoral reform in america wouldn't necessarily get de jure multi-party system but rather de facto thanks to state-run primary.

5/ to any specific Republican, the reasons can be different for each race. Blame for why it happened is always multi-faceted. So, when the candidate I like loses, yes, I think it is the fault of the voters. But, I don't think that is the only true statement possible. I certainly don't think it is

Post-election Sweden a good example of how lazy "horse-race journalism" where "winning" the election is the central angle is utterly useless in covering multi-party democracies. The horse that "wins" can still "lose" if the horses that come 3rd and 4th don't cooperate. Nuance requires knowledge.
