#multiload
The never released Speccy 128 version. Having loved this on C64 disk and Atari ST I cannot imagine how awful it would be to play off tape multiload.

The loading system at the time was pretty innovative though - it loaded the next section whilst playing the current one, which did at least alleviate the pain of multiload.

horrible multiload, mind, and the data on the later levels would get corrupted something rotten, making playing the game to completion utterly impossible. Really original gameplay, though, as you could hijack various means of transport (2/3)

Today's #retrogaming on the #ZXSpectrum #FrankBrunosBoxing, the boxers are loaded via multiload and each has a code to be able to access it. Seems better than some boxing games, but that multiload is a pain.

Toptech Systems RCU II+ and Multiload II+
View CSAF Summary Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain full system control and misuse it to access or manipulate connected networks and resources. The following versions of Toptech Systems RCU II+ and Multiload II+ are affected: RCU II+ <2025-11-24 (CVE-2026-12562) Multiload II+ <2025-11-24 (CVE-2026-12562) CVSS Vendor Equipment Vulnerabilities v3 8.8 Toptech Systems Toptech Systems RCU II+ and Multiload II+ Missing Authentication for Critical Function Background Critical Infrastructure Sectors: Energy Countries/Areas Deployed: Worldwide Company Headquarters Location: United States Vulnerabilities Expand All + CVE-2026-12562 The RCU II+ and Multiload II+ are vulnerable to an unauthenticated service that exposes a debug interface granting full root-level access to the embedded system. This vulnerability stems from a network-accessible port running a Target Communications Framework (TCF) service that does not require any authentication, allowing an attacker to directly interact with the Linux environment that powers the device. Once connected, an attacker can freely view and modify the filesystem, manipulate running processes, and control network interfaces, enabling deep alteration of system behavior. Recommended Practices CISA recommends users take defensive measures to minimize the risk of exploitation of this vulnerability. Minimize network exposure for all control system devices and/or systems, ensuring they are not accessible from the internet. Locate control system networks and remote devices behind firewalls and isolating them from business networks. When remote access is required, use more secure methods, such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), recognizing VPNs may have vulnerabilities and should be updated to the most current version available. Also recognize VPN is only as secure as the connected devices. CISA reminds organizations to perform proper impact analysis and risk assessment prior to deploying defensive measures. CISA also provides a section for control systems security recommended practices on the ICS webpage on cisa.gov/ics. Several CISA products detailing cyber defense best practices are available for reading and download, including Improving Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity with Defense-in-Depth Strategies. CISA encourages organizations to implement recommended cybersecurity strategies for proactive defense of ICS assets. Additional mitigation guidance and recommended practices are publicly available on the ICS webpage at cisa.gov/ics in the technical information paper, ICS-TIP-12-146-01B--Targeted Cyber Intrusion Detection and Mitigation Strategies. Organizations observing suspected malicious activity should follow established internal procedures and report findings to CISA for tracking and correlation against other incidents. No known public exploitation specifically targeting this vulnerability has been reported to CISA at this time. This vulnerability is not exploitable remotely. this is kinda more feasible to make than, say, the multiload crossbow enchant i made that let you instantly load X amount of arrows into a crossbow to rapidly fire off

It was down to timing - as the team started work on the conversion, Commodore started approaching companies to make cartridge games. This was seen as a good title to try, since it would cut down on the multiload (a disk version exists, made by hackers, but it is really slow)

Looking forward to this. One that instantly springs to mind is Road Runner. Horrible multiload and buggy but for some reason, I played it a lot!

Also it only seems to work on the original console unless you have a multiload cart and load the ROM. Kind of not the reason I got the Mega Retron HD!

I love the way you can drop supplies on the map before deploying, and there’s a cool range of missions. But the pace of play is uneven and it’s a heavy multiload. If you get into it and complete a couple of missions, it becomes compelling to keep your soldier alive

Is it not a multiload?
April 29, 2026 at 1:19 AM
I was playing Turbo OutRun on cassette on my Amstrad CPC 464 a couple of years ago and each stage was a multiload so you would literally drive for 60 seconds then load the next stage.

Given the way Epyx liked to put the slowest multiload on their own disk games to flog their "fast load" cartridge, wonder if they crippled the code so they could've flogged some sorta cartridge to speed it up again since it was a single load game anyway!🙄😂

Zzap! fucking hated it. Losers. Though, a cassette version of Dark Castle with multiload..? WTAF? I ahve been tasked by none other than DC Master @pacbilly.bsky.social to play this on my 'C64U when it arrives. I shall. As I cannot get the fucking thing working emulated.

Unsurprisingly the follow up to RD1, RD2 takes it to eleven. 5 levels. Multiload, but allowing you to start from 1-4 if you like, saving the finalé for, well, last. Rightly so. #C64 platformers don't come much more well-made than this. It is a gorgeous, glorious game.
