The one critique I have of normal loans is that the Islamic version of loans (Murabaha) is more straightforward in terms of presentation (in the case below the bank would buy the truck and then sell is to the consumer in installments, based on a selling price of around 140%)

Murabaha Nedir? Murabaha (İng. Murabaha; Alm. Murabaha; Fra. Mourabaha), İslam hukukunda ve katılım finansı sisteminde kullanılan, satıcının malın maliyetini ve üzerine eklediği kâr oranını açıkça beyan ettiği bir satış yöntemidir. Bu modelde satıcı, bir ürünü belirli bir maliyetle temin eder ve alıcıya, maliyet + kâr şeklinde şeffaf bir fiyatla satar. Murabaha, özellikle faiz (riba) yasağı nedeniyle, İslamî finans sisteminde kredi yerine kullanılan temel yöntemlerden biridir.

Looked it up. Similar to the Islamic Murabaha. The lender buys the asset and sells it to the borrower on a cost+ basis, the "+" being the equivalent of interest. Thank you Google. 🙂
