I encountered my first Bible thumper on Bluesky.
It was bound to happen eventually, you can't keep a secret garden forever.
But I'll always remember the 5 minutes when this place wasn't full of people who assume Christianity is the default religion & culture that we all have to care about.

Also, new folks, please know that when it comes to trolls, jerks, chuds and other undesirables here in the sky, we subscribe to the idea of “Don’t Engage, Just Block.” The block function is superpowered and expunges them entirely from your timeline. One of the things us “Bluesky Elders” have learned from our year & a half here is that this experience is what you make of it. Block trolls, don’t quote drag, mute jerks, mute topics that make you angry or sad, just go all in on self-moderation and this place can be so fucking chill. It’s worth it.

The people who are blocking me, either directly or via blocklists, are doing me a FAVOR (and vice versa for the people I block): they are pre-emptively opting out of dealing with my shit instead of making it my problem directly. It's a GOOD thing.
