His fingertips are visible on the far side of his faceplate. Note the well-defined footprints in the foreground. Buzz is facing up-Sun. There is a reflection of the Sun in his visor. At the bottom of Buzz's faceplate, note the white 'rim' which is slightly separated from his neckring. This 'rim' is the bottom of his gold visor, which he has pulled down. We can see the LEC straps hanging down inside of the ladder strut. In the foreground, we can see the foot-grabbing loops in the TV cable. For #FindsFriday the Hiddensee hoard, found in the 1870s in Neuendorf, Lkr. Vorpommern-Rügen. Scandinavian style and Christian crosses suggest a late 10th C date. The neckring is 13.5 cm, the brooch 8 cm, the cross pendants 5.1–6.9 cm. Total weight: 595.5 g pure gold. Now in Stralsund Museum.

Entirely handmade hand fabricated from cut-out copper and bronze sheet in geometric shapes that have been riveted together in spots and soldered across the top at back. A one of a kind piece of wearable modernist art jewelry! The pendant measures 2-7/8" long by 1-7/8" wide, and hangs on a copper wire neckring that measures about 20" from end to end. A striking vintage 1960s 70s one of a kind handmade sterling silver and jasper modernist Sun or Star design pendant from Ireland. An entirely handmade no doubt unique piece of modern art to wear! At center is a large bezel-set jasper cabochon surrounded by a ring of arcing square sterling wires that overall resembles a star or the Sun. Such an unusual piece! Would look great on a chain, a black cord, or hanging from a neckring! I can provide a cord at no additional charge if desired, just let me know when making the purchase. Measures 1.75" diameter, and weighs just under 10 grams total. The marks at back are very very small and worn, so hard to make out, but I can make out the Lyre national mark for Ireland, and the maker mark "HG" probably from Dublin, but I can't make out the other marks. No doubt from the 1960s/70s era. Tested and guaranteed to be as described. From the estate of a NYC collector who traveled the world for her career in publishing, and collected unusual and interesting pieces of wearable art along the way. Excellent vintage condition.

A sculptural one of a k ind vintage 1940s 50s handmade sterling silver and carved wood biomorphic modernist pendant. An incredible piece, entirely handmade, and really makes a statement! Sculpted hand carved wood in the style of such great biomorphic artists as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Jean Arp, and Isamu Noguchi! Held at center by crab claw-like prongs in a rounded rectangular frame with the prongs piercing the frame and becoming almost like little feet at the bottom, and the top prong becomes the bail at top. Measures 2.5" tall by 1.5" wide, and weighs 10.2 grams total. Unmarked. Tested and guaranteed to be as described. No doubt a one of a kind piece of wearable modernist art jewelry originally sold in an art gallery or fair with accompanying paperwork that has been lost over the years. A rare vintage 1980s 90s handmade sterling silver and red lucite geometric Mexican modernist pendant on neckring necklace by Teresa Gonzalez for Tego & Co of Taxco. A great design that is also easy to wear! Teresa Gonzalez was born in Mexico, and raised in Taxco, where she first fell in love with Mexican jewelry design from that area. This inspired her to study jewelry and industrial design in Mexico City and later in Italy, after which she returned to Taxco to produce her jewelry designs! (See the biography of her I found online in my last photo). The pendant measures 2" long by 1-1/2" wide and hangs on a 16.5" wearable sterling silver neckring. Marked "Tego & Co. 925" at back of the pendant as shown, also marked "925" on the neckring that may or may not be original but matches perfectly. I also have the matching bracelet and earrings available - sold separately. Excellent vintage condition. A big pair of vintage 1980s handmade sterling silver and red lucite geometric Mexican modernist pierced earrings designed by Teresa Gonzalez for her business Tego & Co of Taxco. Teresa Gonzalez was born in Mexico, and raised in Taxco, where she first fell in love with Mexican jewelry design from that area. A big vintage 1970s handmade sterling silver and rose quartz abstract modernist pendant on neckring necklace from Kaunis Koru of Helsinki Finland. A lovely and very wearable design likely by Mirjam Salminen who was one of the principal designers at Kaunis Koru at the time! The pendant measures 2" by 2" and hangs on a 17" wearable neckring. Total weight for the necklace is 25.5 grams. The pendant is marked with the Kaunis Koru maker mark, the benchmark "AP" for Kari Aarre Apell, the date letter V7 for 1974, the Finnish national silver mark, and "925" for sterling silver. The accompanying neckring is unmarked, but has been tested and is guaranteed to be sterling silver. Kaunis Koru was a design studio, so they never made the items themselves, they contracted with local silversmiths. Over the years, most of the greats of Finnish Silver design worked at Kaunis Koru including Pekka Piekainen, Bjorn Weckstrom, Mirjam Salminen, and many others. Excellent vintage condition.

Entirely handmade composed of nine segments altogether plus the bail at top, and inlaid with azurmalachite stone, and a chrysoprase 'eye'! Makes an incredible statement worn on a chain, slipped on a neckring, or worn on a black cord! Measures 5-3/8" long by 1-3/4" wide, and weighs over 40 grams total. Marked at back on the bail as shown, "Taxco 925 Mexico" in a circle around the maker mark, "MPL" for a Taxco silversmith, and the Eagle 3 mark. Moves freely when worn! Excellent vintage condition.

A unique vintage 1960s 70s one of a kind handmade sterling silver organic modernist Jelly fish design brooch. Entirely handmade and no doubt a unique piece of wearable art! A hammered convex sterling upper section from which dangle many silver wires resembling the 'arms' of the jelly fish, at least that's what it looks like to me. So unique, and no doubt a one of a kind dimensional design! Could also be easily adjusted to be worn on a chain or cord, and wearing it on a neckring with a bail-attachment on the pin stem would look amazing! Measures 3" tall by 1-5/8" wide by just over 1/2" thickest point. Weighs a super hefty 31 grams total or just about an ounce of solid sterling silver! The marks are lightly hand-etch on the pinback mechanism, and are very hard to make out in my photo or indeed even with a loupe in person. I've included my drawing of the marks in my last photo. The marks read, "Sterling Sibby" and another maker mark as shown. From the estate of a successful career woman in the publishing industry from NYC who traveled extensively and had incredible taste! Excellent vintage condition.

A huge vintage 1940s handmade sterling silver Fan Bows Heart Flower design pendant by Chato Castillo of the famous Los Castillo family, and from very early in his career in Taxco. A very large piece cut from silver sheet and formed into a fan shape with applied balls, bows, a heart, and perhaps a a stylized floral design, or a mask ,above the heart. This pendant has great presence, and would look amazing on a chain, a black cord, or even on a neckring! A very rare design that I have only seen once before, and that one was different in the applied decoration on the fan shape, making them each one of a kind. According to the classic, "Mexican Jewelry" (1963) by Mary Davis and Greta Pack, "...In the few jewelry pieces that he makes...his pieces are all one of a kind..." (p.195). Measures 4.75" wide by 3.5" tall at front, and weighs 39 grams or about 1-1/3 ounce total. Marked at back as shown, "Sterling Chato Mexico". Tested and guaranteed to be as described. Excellent vintage condition.
