Farewell to the Icons of Sci-Fi
This week on Warp My Tardis, KJ the Comic Guy and Security Dan reflect on a series of significant losses across science fiction, animation, and fandom culture. The hosts pay tribute to Walter Koenig, beloved for his role as Chekov in Star Trek and Alfred Bester in Babylon 5; Tom Skerritt, whose iconic performances shaped generations of sci-fi and film fans; and celebrated voice actor Eric Bauza, whose work helped carry forward the legacy of beloved animated characters. The conversation then turns to the future of fandom as the team explores the reported end of BioWare, the legacy of Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and what the studio's impact means for gaming history. They also discuss developments at Wizards of the Coast, the state of tabletop roleplaying games, emerging RPG systems, and exciting new projects inspired by Terry Pratchett, Coriolis, and Sword World.  Join us for a thoughtful and heartfelt discussion about the creators, characters, and stories that shaped geek culture, and why their influence will continue to inspire fans for generations to come.

Captain, My Captain: Remembering Patrick Stewart
In this special and deeply personal episode of Warp My Tardis, KJ the Comic Guy and Security Dan come together to reflect on the life, career, and extraordinary legacy of Sir Patrick Stewart. Best known to fans as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, Stewart's impact stretched far beyond science fiction, touching theatre, film, television, and generations of fans around the world.  The hosts explore Stewart's remarkable journey from the Royal Shakespeare Company to becoming one of the most respected and beloved figures in popular culture. Along the way, they revisit favorite performances, memorable stories from behind the scenes, and the qualities that made him a true icon: his talent, humour, compassion, advocacy, and enduring love of storytelling. More than a tribute episode, this conversation examines what it means to lose the heroes who helped define our fandoms and why their influence continues long after they're gone. As fans across the world mourn, KJ and Dan share personal reflections on grief, legacy, friendship, and the importance of holding our loved ones close.  Join us as we celebrate a life that boldly went beyond the stars and left an indelible mark on science fiction, popular culture, and the hearts of millions.

He was clearly drunk on Gamechangers and continued to get progressively more drunk over time, which indicates to me his water bottle had vodka in it.

If a man has to get drunk to go on a light entertainment nerdculture youtube show, he probably shouldn't be trusted to give his opinion on anything.

Somewhere in a fantasy kingdom, there's a wizard whose entire magical power is making things slightly more convenient.

Self-folding laundry. Perfectly ripe peaches. A spell that finds the end of the tape.

Honestly, he'd be the most popular wizard alive. 😂

I think we should normalize having an unreasonable specialty.

Like knowing an alarming amount about medieval buttons, obscure sea creatures, or castle plumbing.

Everyone deserves one topic that makes friends ask, “Why do you KNOW that?” 😂
