#neuro-surgery
Neurosurgeon says I probably do have intercranial hypertension, but the good news is I don't need brain surgery for my cyst or narrowing artery in my vein yet. I have to do further testing and have to see a neuro-ophthalmologist before treatment but yay

Surgery was a success. One of the best neuro-spinal surgeons delayed his thanksgiving apparently to make sure she got this surgery TODAY.

The fear of her close call with paralysis is warring with the relief that the hardest part is over.

The entire human body was a mistake
It's not at all concerning to see a spinal doctor and be told "I'm immediately scheduling you for surgery end of day tomorrow"

Gonna be missing work while my mom recovers from a lamenectomy, so we'll see how my drawing urge goes

She's out. Tumor was on the surface, so easy surgery as far as neuro goes. Now it's wait & see for how it impacts her long term. Appreciate all the love & support. Y'all are great.
Turns out it's a brain tumor. She's headed into surgery now. Appreciate any prayers, vibes, or other good intentions you want to send her way. I'll be sitting here trying not to lose it.
My mom had another minor stroke. That's 2 in tge last year. She's mostly OK as far as dad can tell, but can't control her left arm right now. She's not even 70 yet, and has beaten cancer so many times you'd think she's invincible, but I could do without the reminder that she is in fact mortal.

My post-surgery fashionisto look 🤣. I had surgery last week to remove a neuro stimulator from my lower back & spine. I have to wear the damn girdle thing for a couple months, but at least it’s slimming 😆.

Bessent is a soybean farmer because his “family works the farm?” Well, in that case I can start doing brain surgery because my cousin is a neuro surgeon. 🤦‍♀️

tldr sa trauma, multiple family deaths and issues coming out from that (I don't really have a family, it's issues that came from this), neuro disorder + insurance denying med that keeps me from neuro surgery, cancer diag for sister, etc. just a lot. I obviously didn't expect constant pile up of this

Paying the final bill for the hospital stay when I had my stroke (24 hrs btwn surgery and neuro ICU) which was 90K before insurance. The first ER I went to, the ambulance trip to the main hospital, and other misc stuff cost another 15K. If I didn't have good insurance, I'd be bankrupt. (1/2)

We've received enough support to barely afford another round of neuro-surgery. The swelling produced an infection that got too close to his brainstem to treat with medication alone.

The surgery is tomorrow. Ideally there won't be any further surprise expenses.

Thank you SO MUCH for the help! ;v;

The surgery did go well ans she had been in recovery in the Neuro ICU for a few days now.

Just gonna be a long recovery, thank you to everyone keeping us in your thoughts.

My mom suffered a brain bleed and went in for emergency surgery today. I'll be putting time into making sure her recovery is handled well ♡

Screenshotting because I don’t want to get into it over the relative merits of hourly neuro checks post brain surgery.

Icu nurse here. I work in a small hospital with a busy neuro component. Once had a patient who required brain surgery due to abscesses stemming from infected teeth. They had to learn to walk again. We need universal healthcare, including dental and vision, for all!

Yesterday, I had a surgery on my neck. The technology used was amazing, as a neuro monitored my arms and legs remotely via sensors and the surgery was adjusted as needed. I am so #grateful for an amazing surgeon and medical team. Onto the healing process! 💚🌻✨

Some companies are developing brain implants that would allow paralyzed people to control prosthetic limbs with their thoughts. No brain implants!

We have known for some time that COVID infection impacts on brain function and neuro-cognitive abilities. So driving a car, flying a plane, working a high rise crane, or performing surgery and many other high risk activities are compromised.

MEMO:

It is not “brainwashing”, it is the “Mid-Level Management Path Neuro-elasticity training regimen.”

All it does is help you build new Company-friendly neuro pathways without surgery or medication.

Need hugs. Caught a bad chest cold and every time I cough hard it hurts my surgery incisions. I’m day 5 post surgery from having a neuro stim removed. Having trouble sitting still; I get restless & feel unproductive and start doing stuff I shouldn’t yet.

Some vent art.

January was tough, so it’s been difficult to be creating. It also ended with a really bad carpal tunnel flare up, and after going to my physio, I might actually need surgery, so I’m scared tbh. I have an appointment with the neuro to confirm but it don’t look good…

I have to get neuro surgery for my spinal cord. I was diagnosed with Tethered Cord Syndrome- instead of being free flowing like a spinal cord should be, mine is attached to a piece of fatty tissue. i have to get surgery to fix it. please watch the video for more details.

I'd be interested in the breakdown of doctors who are surgeons vs all other doctors regarding their feelings about ai. Recent chatted with a neuro researcher about ai & brain surgery; she was totally pumped! That made sense to me. But if my internist/pcp felt glowy about ai, my first impulse is 🤨🤔
