Today I received word that a colleague who had hoped to come to Boston from Prague (for an observership with his own funding) can’t come because all kinds of visitors are paused now due to new federal orders. It is beyond depressing.

Yesterday I had to write to a colleague from Charles University in Prague, a psychologist, who was scheduled to do a observership at HMS that we have cancelled all visitors for the foreseeable future. There are no scientists, researchers, medical professionals who are allowed to come visit.

Really weird hill for the troll to die on. Observer training I've seen (multiple orgs) for the past 6-8 weeks includes statements to the effect that if you don't want to risk your own identification doing front-line work - maybe observership isn't the role for you in all of this.
