anyway I think there's a dearth of discussion about healing from being raised by people with OCPD
I don't think OCPD people deserve villainization, but like, if you tell people your parents are narcissists you get sympathy, if you say they're OCPD you get "what,it's bad your dad was a good person?"

my dad has OCPD, which is distinct for OCD, and when I was a teenager and he was in graduate school (for therapy) he self-diagnosed himself (almost certainly correctly, but he never actually sought confirmation or went to any kind of actual therapy for it) & admitted he caused my OCD

I still just find it absolutely baffling that my dad can admit he has OCPD but say I’m an abuser because I think my childhood was traumatic

It’s funny, because I’ve long thought of growing up undiagnosed autistic and ADHD as “gifted kid syndrome,” and after finding out about OCPD from a friend, it seems like a natural extension of that.
That thing where “gifted kids” bounce off of things they’re not immediately good at? Classic OCPD.
