I know it was probably because they didn't have the OhRanger suits, but I do wish the Zeo Zords had gotten one last hurrah instead of them Ultraman-ing the final battle.

Not only did Carranger have lower ratings than Ohranger, but also lower sales. On top of that, there's an interview with Red Racers actor, Yuki Kishi, that he his fellow cast members weren’t told anything about Sentai ending and they need to save it.

where as Carranger saved it. That was later proven to be false. Ohranger did not get Sentai almost cancelled, nor was Sentai in danger of of ending (Yet, keep in mind this was about 30 years before Gozyuger).
