The English Electric class 50, a firm favourite of many, myself included. A locomotive that had presence in every possible way. This view at Old Oak Common turntable also now sadly consigned to history. Great days!

Old Oak Common in the 80s and 90s was a great place, and I loved every minute of being there.

The government has today (Wednesday 18 June) admitted that HS2 will not be running trains from 2033 as planned. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander also announced that she is to accept all the recommendations of the James Stewart Review into the “mismanagement” of HS2.
