Certes.

personally I think that you weird perma-teens need to be like "oldspace" and us kiddos will take back middlespace!! 🦨

Le NewSpace mange le OldSpace, épisode 47393. RocketLab devient inéluctablement un nouveau "major" de l’industrie spatiale américaine.

For all the people who say that commercial space flight is a failure, that’s still wrong. Falcon and Dragon are *incredibly* reliable, while Boeing’s OldSpace approach with Starliner is an unmitigated failure. SLS is too expensive and flies too infrequently to be practical.
May 29, 2026 at 2:08 AM
lol did you think the starliner letter meant anything but just punishing boeing? you thought it meant genuine change to the commercial spaceflight risk structure and not just punishing "oldspace"?? loooool

Space Launch System was built by "OldSpace" legacy contractors, which is why it's cost $55 billion so far. Neither SpaceX nor Blue Origin have anything to do with it.
February 4, 2026 at 5:45 PM
I think if you went back to 2019 or 2020 and told people that Starship still wouldn't have flown a single orbital mission in 2026 they would just laugh in your face and maybe call you an OldSpace shill or something.

Interpreting this that someone is getting into 'oldspace' and enjoying their hearing aid time like a little would their paci 🤭

As far as I can tell, Blue Origin hired a bunch of OldSpace execs and has basically been recapitulating their playbook. They’ve barely launched anything despite an over decade and $Bs spent.

Musk is an asshole but SpaceX’s R&D culture is the correct one for rocketry, or at least it used to be.
June 7, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Like, New Glenn is basically the main NewSpace competitor: there are OldSpace choices too, but then you get into issues of cost overruns.
June 7, 2025 at 6:03 PM
The next 50 years will be different. The space sector is changing rapidly. NewSpace is rising, and OldSpace is evolving. ESA must find its role in this new world and I have no doubt it will. ESA will remain a driving force in space exploration for decades to come.

Happy 50th birthday, ESA! 🎉

So... the newspace company working under oldspace supervision became successful and the oldspace company doing it newspace-like had troubles. And now the newspace company is doing it newspace-like, having troubles.

This speaks a lot about newspace.

Not quite, BOs methodology is miles apart from SX.
Oldspace takes years, decades and has a success first launch.
Except when it doesn't.
NG has had nearly a decade of Development.
🦗🦗🦗
In that time Newspace should have blown up umpteen rockets and a launch pad or two!

Not saying it would work out commercially or it could live up to the promises (just like Shuttle didn't), but the tech could be done. Few years at the drawing boards, slide rulers and wind tunnels (I of course mean the modern world equivalents). In short: as oldspace did it.

Up to now I only used the word "megacon" for the thinly veiled impossibility of the multi-thousand-satellite architectures. Now, a new market segment opened up.
At the same time... Starship could work technically. Just it needs an oldspace design and development process.

5/5 Few weeks ago I felt a lack in this little family.
Big Brother: Polyus!
After a battle to get 2 satisfying cones, Polyus is available since today.

4/5 Just before the publication of Energia, I thought that a Launch Table would be a plus.
This Launch Table set became available at the same time as Energia.

2/5 In the fall of 2021, I said to myself "Why not also make the Energia rocket?"
I started with 2 Saturn V (set 92176). Indeed, the central part of the Saturn V corresponds to the diameter of the Energia boosters.

Nah, you’re the ignorant one here who has drunk the oldspace kool-aid and convinced yourself that slow and steady gets you anywhere.

Un bon "gros" satellite GEO pour Thales Alenia Space, deux satellites radar SAR pour Airbus DS, les constructeurs "OldSpace" européens ont connu pire matinée !

Bien sûr, ça n'enlève rien aux difficultés du secteur.
