A sweet male steenbok looking back at me. We came back to our cabin to find a bushbuck laying against the wall out back. She stayed for a while, watching us. A small spider, thankfully on an outside wall. I put water out hoping to attract birds. A small vervet monkey was the only one to come for drink.

Sometimes you only get a minute or two with a leopard, but it’s a thrill every time. I spotted this one to my left walking toward the road. By the time we stopped and reversed, it crossed in front of us and disappeared into the bush.

As we were leaving a hide there was a large herd of female impala milling about. As a car drove slowly through, one impala decided she wanted to get ahead of some others and lept into the air. Not the best photo but I was happy to get it.

Our morning drive was all about a beautiful female leopard. We followed her to several locations, even up two different trees. It ended with a fiery sunset. There’s nothing like a Kruger sunset.

The morning started with hyenas picking at the leftovers of the buffalo the lions had killed the day before. Gruesome.

Today’s photos are not actually from Kruger. We visited the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center, which rescues and rehabilitates rhinos, cheetah and a few other random animals. We got to see Sable, finally, even if it was a cheat.
