I had to dip on #nca24 today to cruise with my family. That means I’m missing the #orgcomm mentoring pod session.

All I can say is: Find people who lift you up!

We had an engaging and early journal editorial board meeting this morning, which made the meeting inclusive for board members across all time zones.

Now I'm just thinking about what time to take a little nap.

(To be fair free transit would be yet another WC subsidy rather than something FIFA/OrgComm would bear, and we already gave at the office and then some)

It is being speculated that because of possible political reasons some of these votees were deemed ineligible but there is no communication from the orgcomm. And the blatant fudging of the voting numbers is remarkable. Lots of things in the air and people are absolutely angry and frustrated.

The 2023 Worldcon was in Chengdu, China. There are some number of books, authors, fan writers etc in totality who SHOULD have been eligible but were deemed not so, and this was never communicated to them. The orgcomm for Chengdu just released the voting numbers and there are lots of inconsistencies
