At least I can write it in orgmode, emacs publishing is *really* nice when you figure out how to use it

beorg 2026.11 is now out. The new feature is support for #OrgMode style TODO dependencies. There are also some bug fixes and the ability for search grouping to use inherited tags. For more information see the blog https://www.beorg.app/blog/beorg-2026.11/

I can't deny that ticking off boxes in something like trello (at work) is satisfying (was more satisfying when it still had a little whimsy in the form of animations), but at home I'm in the grasp of plaintext files.
Tried orgmode for a bit, but eh.
[x] this is fine :)

God damn I have to rewrite the contributor documentation in my #aspnet fork to be in orgmode, fuck markdown all my homies hate markdown, nobody can agree on what it is. Org or death

The most important thing, I have found, is being able to visualize things. I'm an orgmode user, so I keep everything in a sprawling mess of text files that get indexed into agendas, tasks, etc. All of this is browsable and editable from any machine I own.

Looking for an easy tutorial on how to get started using EasyOrg as a task manager, preferably with projects, an inbox (to capture stuff) and tasks that are tagged by context with filters to see all actionable tasks for that particular context.*

#easyorg is supposed to be #orgmode for dummies […]

I have an #orgmode capture template for creating a TODO item about replying to an email. The captured item has a GNUS link to the email, so I can comfortably reply to it from #emacs, but I just realized I can also make the capture template add a web link to GMail so I can reply from my phone, too.

Codeberg supports orgmode readme btw, markdown is ass and nobody can agree on it so this is good

Most of my webpages these days are written in orgmode and then exported to HTML. 😌

i wouldn't go that far (maybe because i enjoy Obsidian as a text editor too much?)… but you could always give Orgmode, AsciiDoc or reStructuredText a go (Orgmode unfortunately has poor support outside of Emacs even if it's quite powerful)!

It was only a matter of time I fell down the Emacs Lisp rabbit hole after switching to Emacs as my main code editor. One such endeavour was writing an Emacs command to quickly copy the contents of a source code or example block in Org Mode:

For some reason I recently started exploring #obsidian. Coming from #emacs, #orgmode and #orgrr, some things are driving me insane. How come it is impossible in Obsidian (without third-party plugins) to copy a wiki link to the currently open note? Why can I copy a quote with a nice reference […]

OK I think I did my accessibility revisions. Basically, I've been using emacs orgmode for years for class content, was trying Google Docs this semester just to make things "easier" on me so I could live-edit in class, but gdocs doesn't actually have a built-in accessibility scanner and doesn't […]

Coming from Obsidian to Org Mode, org-appear (https://github.com/awth13/org-appear) is a must-have addition. It provides the same editing experience as Obsidian’s Live Preview. One step closer to actually making the switch!

@da5nsy Hi, good questions. I boost.

I can just say that I tested Logseq but I feared the lock-in effect with all theses plugins. So now I use a bit plain markdown files and for some todo I use Orgzly ( that an Android orgmode editor ). I would like to have a summary but didn’t find a simple […]

I'm curious - has anyone switched from #logseq to #orgmode? How was the experience? What did you gain/lose/miss?

Logseq seems quite bloated for my needs - I mainly use it as a todo tracker.

What I like doing with it:
- making todo lists on the fly, anywhere, and being able to refer back to […]

Another one for the #emacs and #orgmode crowd. I've been using org-roam for note taking and plain org for my GTDish setup. With Orgzly Revived I can check and edit my todos on the go. But only for the GTD stuff since Orgzly chokes with a large amount of files.

What I miss is a way to create and […]
