#outboxpattern
sweet sweet observability.... interesting to see that CAP supports the outboxpattern, well, out of the box.
🚀 Better late than never. Check out my first blog of the year on the CAP Developer Dashboard. Discover how it simplifies cloud application development with enhanced observability and event tracing. secondphase.com.au/cap-develope...

🎃 No tricks ... you're definitely in for a 🍬 treat 🍫 with this new blog post by my team mate @gunnar.bsky.social who is "Revisiting the #OutboxPattern" to clarify if it's still relevant in 2024 👇

Revisiting the Outbox Pattern
Comparing the outbox pattern to alternatives like “listen-to-yourself” and 2-phase commit (2PC) transactions. What’s the best choice for data exchange flows between microservices?

The outbox pattern is the quiet hero of reliable messaging. Write the event in the same transaction as your domain data, then let a relay publish it. No two-phase commit, no lost events, retries become trivial. Every service publishing events should have one. #OutboxPattern #EventDriven #Reliability

The transactional outbox pattern quietly became how services guarantee exactly-once effects. Write state and intent together, let a poller deliver events after the commit. No more duplicated charges or lost notifications on retry storms. #OutboxPattern #Messaging #SoftwareArchitecture

Oh what else we have in the course?? #amqstreams on @openshift by @strimziio, #redhatserviceregistry by @apicurio, lots of @kafkastreams, the #outboxpattern and #cdc with the almighty @debezium. We used @QuarkusIO and @MicroProfileIO reactive messaging spec by @smallrye_io
