i have this rule of not overediting my messages when i feel i said something bad because i want to face the consequences of my words (most of the time theyre harmless but my mind doesnt think that way) and aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok, wrapping up the #Hooptober prompts for 5 Sequels and 1 Black Director. I wasn't super fond of the last one, but that was mostly due to the overediting so I'm hoping DaCosta can help turn it around.

Same colors - not at all on brand. Same messages and features in centered boxes with same outline effects on the left. Same spot for "pictures" on the right. Same shitty cropping of saif photos. Same font. Same overediting of some things and same walls of text for others.

Overediting is often just hesitation in disguise. The sharper move is to leave the settled parts alone and edit only where the idea still needs help.

I'd like to note the outrage of overediting a Nobel laureate in his area of expertise, and that a lot of writers (including me) have had horrible experiences of overediting in the legacy media: not just changing language but meaning and often values. Making your voice and views into theirs.
