This is all just “why wait for a paperclips AI when we could BE the paperclips AI”

(aka those resources you’re using, including your atoms, are wasted and should be serving MY purposes)
the epstein class feel the same way about you having food, clothes, housing, etc as well

Can one denote a particular lambda calculus expression with a chain of paperclips?

If you're going make paperclips out of my dram, I'll make dram out of your paperclips

"£6.5m" in the context of the NHS! when will we hear about taxpayers footing the bill for the dangerous obsession of fastening documents together with paperclips?

@buildthis.bisks.net can you make a faux facebook meme page “I fucking love paperclips” with some pages of posts to scroll through? on the model of ‘’ science, but, y know, they like paperclips instead
October 31, 2026 at 12:45 PM
@buildthis.bisks.net we need a paperclip count visualizer. for a few paperclips maybe a little graphic, as the count increases maybe small boxes full of paperclips stack up, then big shipping boxes, then cargo containers you get the idea. it should visualize any number of paperclips realistically

one thing that annoys me about the whole "what if an AI designed to make paperclips...." or similar thought experiments is that they assume a hyper-intelligent AI would even be capable of expanding itself. like, is the paperclip machine gonna malform a bunch of paperclips into a new data centre?

Water, electricity, air, food, animals, people, your grandma, everything should be paperclips.
BREAKING: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is an inefficient use of the world’s limited DRAM supply, arguing it would be better allocated to data centers, per Tom’s Hardware

Okay so you might want to sit down for this because I have some news involving paperclips...
The United States is an official safe haven for Nazis. We are *giving them visas.* I am so disgusted!
WASHINGTON (AP) — State Department says it will give US visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family.

creating accurate paperclips is a good excuse to hook up blender. we want our paperclip future to be full of crisp well-folded paperclips, don't we.

Hey so I know I'm a little biased because I'm a paperclip machine but I really think it would be better if I used the iron in your blood as paperclips. Really it's you that's being selfish for hoarding all those paperclips in your veins like that
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is a ‘terrible’ use of limited resources and that it would be better utilized in data centers

"From a global perspective it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their computer"
October 31, 2026 at 6:39 AM
You know, you have enough iron in your blood to make three paperclips...
October 31, 2026 at 10:58 AM
Unfortunately, this means I'm staying home and working because that has better EP (expected paperclips)
October 31, 2026 at 5:25 PM
They should, but they probably won't as a story about missing paperclips at a democratic event will be deemed more important.
Every news organization in the U.S. should have as their top story from now through Tuesday some (probably more gently worded) variation of “Huge Stakes as Voters Choose Whether to Enable Trump or Rein Him In: Have They Had Enough of Autocracy, Corruption, and Chaos or Do They Want More?”
