Ok fellow millennials: we are not whining about this. Our parents are getting old. They should not have to be hosting every holiday anymore! My parents are in their 70s! We are adults in our 30s and 40s, we are not being parentified - we are parent-age!

I went from being treated as a parentified young person to an infantilized adult. There was no stretch of my life where people treated me like a…reasonable, competent adult.

Her mother recently asked her why she is child free. She answered, "Because I've already raised 3 of your kids and I'm tired".

Skill issue. Simply have had a childhood where you were adultified and parentified from your earliest memories. Then there's nothing simple to regress back to!
