I made a post recently about it sucking when games disable achievements if you enable accessibility settings, and the replies were full of people saying everything short of the R-slur in regards to making games too easy - and it's like, no I have Parkinsonism I want to use a different control scheme

‘A possible relationship between chronic organophosphate.exposure and alterations in central cholinergic or dopaminergic activity is suggested.

[This]..raises the possibility that agricultural workers may be at risk for the late development of parkinsonism.’

Single case study. Possible organophosphate-induced parkinsonism - PubMed
A case of possible organophosphate-induced parkinsonism is presented. The patient was a crop duster with numerous episodes of acute organophosphate intoxication and chronic organophosphate exposure. The etiology of parkinsonism is discussed in terms of a balance hypothesis between cholinergic and do …

Are Parkinsonism patterns changing over time?

New data show declining Parkinson’s disease incidence but rising prevalence, alongside increasing recognition of vascular Parkinsonism.

Hello Bsky folks - here is a paper that we published earlier this year - great collaboration with the Bellen lab, Hyung-lok Chung, @okanca.bsky.social and others. Have a look if you're interested in Cdk8/19, mitochondria, Parkinsonism and Drosophila!

COVID19 causes inflammation of the vascular endothelium—the tissue lining blood vessels. Diffuse organ damage is a consequence. Some studies suggest an upsurge in Parkinsonism and possibly vascular dementia—brain fog definitely happens. So you'd expect an upswing in random anger, across all ages.

I'm still fervently pursuing employment opportunities, and now have my Parkinsonism meds so can more easily work on commissions.

Unfortunately, there are some monthly bills to surmount in the meantime.

Any help that's able to be provided is hugely appreciated, as ever! 💛

One of the best discussions at the Aspen course was the use of the term parkinsonism. Parkinsonism is a broad clinical syndrome characterized by bradykinesia possibly accompanied by rest tremor, rigidity, and/or postural instability, regardless of the underlying cause.
