Had to wait until the final day of the month to find the best patch bird of the month. This Mute Swan briefly in Grandes Rocques Bay was only my second sighting on my patch in more than 20 years. They do not visit the island every year #PWC2025

Yeah, Glaucous Gulls are great but the real #patchgold today at Girdle Ness was this Coot on the St Fittick's wetlands. Only my second ever record here and perhaps only the fourth or fifth ever daytime record.

At Newton this evening when I heard a Phalarope calling, I looked up but could only see a large flock of Starlings. Then I realised, this Red-necked Phalarope was in amongst them ! It dropped towards the scrapes but I couldn't relocate it unfortunately.
