Is there anything more foolish than Impatiens with their wonky petaloid spurs curling underneath 'em? #AprilFools #FoolishFlowers. Impatiens capensis (orange Jewelweed in Boulder), Impatiens niamniamensis (reddish Parrot flower), purple Impatiens paucidentata & Impatiens grandis blooming at DBG. 🌿 🌱

Through autumn and early winter the Autumn scrub daisy begins! Olearia paucidentata is a common straggly shrub that put in stunning displays when in bloom, though I find Wikipedias description of their capitula “Daisy like” quite amusing, like it is a daisy 😂🤔 so yes Daisy like aha

Onto a species from the #Astereae tribe, #Olearia paucidentata, the Autumn Scrub Daisy, flowering from early autumn this species can be found widely in WA from Julian bay to Albany! This genus is large with many species all around Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea!
