Probably Heat Waves! Even just from a volume perspective, I still sometimes can’t believe I wrote that many words! But also my Kogane/Tendou fic, Astereae. I know it’s such a weirdo pairing so not as many people have read it, but I love it so much, especially the Tendou pov part.

Many WA natives used to be classified in the genus Aster, and all of them belong to the tribe Astereae. But Astereae also includes plants lile Baccharis (coyote brush), Ericameria (rabbit-brush), Grindelia (gumweed), Rigiopappus (wire stem), and Solidago (goldenrod) . . .

Resurrecting a long-neglected genus, researchers reinstate Homostylium to accommodate seven shrubby species formerly placed in Aster ser. Albescentes, based on molecular and morphological evidence.

Resurrection of the genus Homostylium Nees for the former Aster ser. Albescentes Y.Ling (Astereae, Asteraceae), with an updated generic synopsis
Recent molecular phylogenetic studies have demonstrated extensive paraphyly of Aster ser. Albescentes Y.Ling. This woody-based shrubby group is both morphologically and molecularly distinct from the g...

There are tons of Solidago species & lookalikes so quite possible it’s US native Solidago canadensis gone rogue there but looks like there is a species native to much of Europe called Solidago virgaurea so might be worth investigating that for better ID before pulling. uwaterloo.ca/astereae-lab...

A study of 40 Aster species shows that floral micromorphology alone offers limited taxonomic value, underscoring the need to integrate molecular data for clearer classification within the genus.
