The Humanities must firmly reject AI taking over our classrooms, our pedagogy. It’s the only way.

If your only value in the classroom is knowing more than the students, you don’t understand pedagogy
A Princeton professor thinks students would be better off learning from Claude than from him.

These politicians need a pedagogy class STAT.

"pedagogy of the oppressed" means taking control of pedagogy away from the oppressors, not throwing it away altogether.

If a professor wanted to develop their pedagogy after that? They had to ask someone to come teach them how to embed a blog in the learning management system and then sort of ambush them with substantive questions about pedagogy

If your "best" pedagogy excludes every disabled person for whom handwriting is suboptimal or impossible, your pedagogy is shit.

Can we normalize pedagogy?

The open secret to pedagogy research is that small class sizes/maximizing educator attention per pupil is the simplest, most effective, and unfortunately the least attractive to administration thing you can do to improve learning outcomes.
We know how to teach books in the age of AI: small classes, close reading, research-engaged learning (which is how you ’let students see you struggle’). The issue is nobody will hire and pay the requisite # of faculty to offer this.

It's MARKETING and NOT SOUND PEDAGOGY.
Wake up Boston!
Don’t listen to the mayor or the district downplay the reliance on AI in the classroom. Listen to the DONOR’s own priorities, which are driving the adoption of this policy.

“We want to be deeply in the classes,” [Paul] English said, “and ultimately, we want every teacher to be using AI.”
Boston is embracing AI in its public schools, unlike NYC and LA - The Boston Globe
The fast-moving technology has some educators, parents, and students worried, even as others argue there’s room for experimentation.

just got a paper back from peer review and:

reviewer one: complicated writing, minor revisions required

reviewer two: this pedagogy should be used for everyone, not just anxious students, major revisions required

reviewer three: this writing is beautiful, this pedagogy is terrible, reject
