My Pixelbook, which has been dead for months now, suddenly sprang back to life when I decided to try to sign in one more time before I sent it to recycling. It's now the senior computer in the house.

I had a Google Pixelbook, 2017 vintage, and it was one of my favorite laptops ever, but it doesn't work especially well any more. I do have a Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5, but I use it more as a tablet than a laptop.
I could swear I remember you using a Chromebook a few years back. Get tired of it? Or am I just misremembering?

My favourite ever keyboard was the Pixelbook - Google's mad, functionally-irrational top-tier Chromebook from a decade or so back. Basically the tech equivalent of embedding diamonds in a Big Mac.

I’m mostly sad because it’s a Pixelbook, and it’s probably my favorite laptop ever in terms of form factor and ease of use. And of course Google doesn’t make them anymore, because Google is fickle when it comes to hardware.
Given the price point, a lot of them last much longer than I expect. RIP.

@horchatasob.bsky.social How is it possible that a laptop manufactured by #Google, ( #PixelBook), running an operating system created by #Google ( #ChromeOS), is not compatible with an AI app created by Google ( #Gemini)?

My most successful blog post when I had a little tech blog was setting up a Pixelbook for VSCode for Salesforce development of all things, think I should relaunch and send it to him?

Google will make the perfect device and then never follow up with an upgrade.
Take this Pixelbook. The best 2-in-1 design ever. It's visually striking. Here I am about to recycle it and I spent an hour fawning over it's design one more time.

the T480 is contentslop and is only good for making the generic "Why I use an old ThinkPad" video.
the T440p is nostalgiaslop because the haswell chips are horrendous but people keep pretending they're still good.
long live the Pixelbook Go, the ultimate Linux laptop

Good #morningmugshot to all scrolling by the #teacher5oclockclub this late May Half Term Wednesday. I realise I prefer using my Google Pixelbook over every other keyboard based device I have. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
