If you build a social platform, are you responsible for solving what people actually need, or giving them what they already want?

And when people use it to perform who they want to be seen as, is that a platform problem — or just human nature?

And here’s the twist: most people aren’t trying to be cruel. They’re just reacting to a system that rewards snapping instead of listening.
It’s the design that’s broken.

Scale does not always create a better experience.

Sometimes a platform becomes so large that it can no longer read individual context, so it relies on broad limits and automated rules.

For high-frequency personal logs, smaller spaces can feel more usable.

The fear is not technical.
The platform works. The privacy holds. The design refuses to optimize for addiction.
The fear is RECOGNITION.

I built a platform that wants you to leave fast.

Investors keep telling me that's backwards.

They're measuring the wrong thing.

Platforms already prompt you before you send a slur. They could just as easily add friction before you mock someone who just died. This isn't censorship. It's one second of pause.

Platform problems are mostly outside my control.

The useful question is not why a platform limits me.

The useful question is where my workflow can continue without friction.

I do not need to understand every obstacle. I just need better conditions.

Section 230 protected platforms for years. Now parents are changing tactics, arguing it’s the design of these products, not the content, that puts kids at risk. If design creates harm, should the shield still apply?
