Kinda wild that a fusion power company is planning to start its first reactor this year and has already signed PPAs for its first commercial reactor (a separate facility expected to begin operating in the early 2030s).

Solar Energy Corporation of India just auctioned 1 GW of renewable power that has to match a coal plant's schedule — checked every 15 minutes, penalties for shortfalls. It cleared at ₹5.25/kWh (~$55/MWh), fixed for 25 years. New comparable coal PPAs opened at ₹5.38-6.30 plus fuel price inflation.

One thing I'm excited about is that a lot of data centers are signing PPAs for massive green energy projects. If you're in a desert, no reason not to build out a ton of solar

At their best, data centers are a kind of miraculously perfect industry for the green energy transition. They're already fully electrified, reliable large longterm customers, and owned by companies that have already invested a ton into renewable PPAs. But if they don't do this...

I mean they're not just planning it, they've signed PPAs. If you can get Eni to sign a PPA with you I'll be impressed.

By 2017, PPAS had organised an Uber riders union of about 600. Islamist organisation Front Pembula Islam (FPI) falsely accused PPAS of being an atheist. Consequently, the union lost about 90% of its membership within the space of two weeks. PPAS remain undaunted. The struggle continues.

It will also have many on-site diesel generators. Claiming that it can be powered by biomethane, hydrogen or HVO, or that it can sign renewable PPAs, is an absolute distraction from the fact that it will be powered by fossil fuels.

So here's a question for everyone: did Amazon Australia's April 2026 deal somehow help the developer reach financial close in 2022? Even though they explicitly say this deal was done without PPAs?

Explain the business model. In Texas, it seems they take over as electricity retailer - buy wholesale from ERCOT or PPAs, sell retail to households - and also install rooftop solar? Aggregate EVs and smart thermostats? Do they sell demand flexibility in ERCOT's regulation and reserve markets?
