The idea of introducing a public web interface before a robust protocol for privacy sure as fuck is a choice, huh y'all?
DMs on Bluesky will not be "end-to-end encrypted" until we are able to do some more protocol work.
We have very careful access controls within our systems.
If you're extremely privacy conscious, I'd recommend using Bluesky DMs to share your Signal accounts!

It's planned, but there's a lot they have to add first. DMs and privacy sound hard to do in open clients.

You need to offer privacy settings to your users as basic safety protocol. You don’t know who may be in danger otherwise.

my biggest concern with bluesky's federation models are the relays
as of right now i cant see any concievable way for a relay to get only the events required for a single account to have a view of its follower feed (and replies) without cooperation on the part of every PDS on the network

WebRTC is a peer-to-peer communications protocol for web sites and therefore causes numerous privacy issues through making direct connections between participants. By default our Vanadium browser disables the peer-to-peer aspect by only using server-based (proxied) connections.
