a real edge case for “consider your audience”—i fear this post may inspire a number of beautiful women who would otherwise be uninterested in property management to become landlords

When I worked in the hotel industry, the big chains were using ancient-ass property management software (Hilton's OnQ was from 2004 and Marriott's FOSSE is literally MS-DOS based with no mouse input) and I've been thinking about this more and more lately.

Because it worked fine.

The Prime Minister is asked about abolishing leasehold.

He answers on management companies and ground rents that makes it really clear Labour have no intention of abolishing leasehold.

5 million people stuck paying service charges because Labour stand with property developers.

Dear property management in the U.S., you’re horrible and scam us because why do we need 2-3.5x the rent in income when you can’t even do your job, answer the phone, or ensure that safety and maintenance issues are addressed?

This South Side Weekly report on the Chicago building raid is well worth reading. Most striking to me are the indications of collusion between federal authorities and the building owner and management to effect a mass eviction at the blighted property. southsideweekly.com/federal-agen...

Airbnb is one of many factors responsible for the skyrocketing cost of housing in BC. I hope more of these 'management' companies go belly up.

It's really hard to feel sorry for someone who bought eight homes to use as Airbnbs and now has to sell them or go broke.

I hear this myth all the time and it’s bizarre. Rich people hire property management companies to handle all the logistics for them and still get 90% of the rent each month. The idea that landlords are forgoing free money en masse makes no sense.
the strangest common idea on the left is that you can make more money by buying real estate and leaving it empty than by renting it out

44 states and the federal government are now suing property management companies over their use of an AI pricing tool to raise rents.

Utah is the latest state to join the lawsuit accusing over 600 corporate landlords of using RealPage software to form an illegal rent cartel.

It’s moving season in MA – and we’re putting property managers on notice.

A property management company charged illegal, hidden new lease and lease renewal fees to tenants. We’re holding them accountable to the tune of $500k, all being returned to tenants.

Property management isn't about providing housing to people.

It's about withholding housing from people.
😞
Fuck the absolute shit out of profit driven, community hating, greedy piece of shit landlords.

And just to avoid any confusion, this isn’t about the Moonbase.
