This program changed my life. I was fortunate enough to have my loans forgiven in January, right before Trump took office. I encourage everyone to submit a comment in support of the PSLF program.

This program changed my life. I was fortunate enough to have my loans forgiven in January, right before Trump took office. I encourage everyone to submit a comment in support of the PSLF program.
I think the PSLF takedown might push the MD students into the "burning rage" category soon enough though.

hit my 120 months of employment for PSLF so I switched my payments from SAVE over to RAP so I can make a few slightly more affordable payments before filing my taxes from last year so then I can apply for buyback and forgiveness.

A lot of people who have had loans forgiven through PSLF are reporting that their loans are reappearing on their credit reports.

I've worked in public service since 2006. Until my loan was forgiven in 2022 thanks to PSLF, I had been repaying it for nearly 20 years with no real change to the balance. I had just accepted that I'd be making that payment every month for the rest of my life. PSLF was life-changing policy for me.
This work is by no means complete. But no one 4 years ago thought that we would be saying 1 million people have had debt cancelled because they worked in public service. In 2017, 96 borrowers had debt canceled through PSLF. It was only 7k by 2021. Gift link.

Under the terms of the 8th Circuit's injunction, the Education Department couldn't give PSLF forgiveness to any borrower who is subject to the SAVE plan rule — even if they independently meet the PSLF requirements.
It's nonsense. But, the 8th Circuit just said it doesn't care.
