The statistical performance indicators data from the World Bank for 2024 has been released today, and I've been working on a little interactive explainer 📊

Really useful #QuartoPub extension, especially for things like online event schedules 👇
Announcing localtime, a #QuartoPub extension for displaying times in the reader's local timezone e.g.

{{< localtime 2026-03-09 20:30 UTC >}} will render as 2026-03-09 21:30 for someone in CET.

Has nice formatting options, and automatically accounts for daylight saving.

hahahaha just got an email from someone who was using Claude to generate a boilerplate #QuartoPub document and the LLM *used my name* as the author. The computers are literally trying to be me now 😂🤣🙃🫠

I’ve long used FiveThirtyEight’s interactive “Hack Your Way To Scientific Glory” to illustrate the idea of p-hacking when I teach statistics. But ABC/Disney killed the site earlier this month :(

So I made my own with #rstats and Observable and #QuartoPub ! stats.andrewheiss.com/hack-your-way/

Doing data analysis in #rstats (and #quartopub) today and am loving @vincentab.bsky.social's universe of {marginaleffects, modelsummary, and tinytable} packages. Fast, just work, and easy to use.

#rstats and #QuartoPub PSA: @vincentab.bsky.social's {tinytable} is the absolute best table making package out there for LaTeX output (it natively supports tabularray!), and it's phenomenal for HTML. It has fully replaced {gt} and {kableExtra} for me vincentarelbundock.github.io/tinytable/

Finally got around to switching my in-browser #rstats R Primers website to use the newer better-supported #QuartoPub Live extension, which will now let me eventually add nicer inline feedback someday

With bookdown.org being decommissioned, I've been working on converting #rstats books from #bookdown to #quartopub. After spending a lot of time with Claude to get it right for my two books, here's a repo that might help you do the same (especially with Claude Code):

All the links to packages and resources I mentioned are there, so hopefully this can be a nice reference, too!

I've (finally!!) finished porting my website over to Quarto: nrennie.rbind.io

It looks much the same as the previous Hugo site and I've tried to make sure nothing is broken 🤞 In an ideal world you won't notice any difference!

I've been working on something fun!

When you process #QuartoPub notebooks at sub-millisecond speed, you get *instant* previews as you type, and you can render massive websites in mere seconds. 🤯🚀
