"pieced" vs "quilted", excellent.
tbh that’s the “quilting.” It’s pretty straightforward as that. If you say you’ve pieced something, that’s the work of sewing fabric together but basically on one plane. If you say you’ve quilted something, that’s the work of stitching through multiple layers to create integrity / a whole.

I decided I wanted a quilted bench pillow cover for between Halloween and Christmas but not turkeys cuz they're mean fuckers and I don't like them. I went through my orange scraps and went with a leaf block in different shades. It came out pretty and used up a bunch of scraps. Plus, no nasty birds.
