#OTD On Sept 29, 1940, two RAAF Avro Ansons collided and locked together over Brocklesby. The lower plane's engines kept running. After three crew bailed out, the upper pilot controlled the combined aircraft using ailerons and flaps to make a safe paddock landing. All four survived.

Also, much later, in my Army / Airforce liaison flight (when Dad had his own CAS-branded aircraft for unannounced visits to airforce bases 🤔) you had to be 90’ above ground level doing above 90kts to avoid ejection killing you .. there was a gap 🤷♂️
